Aalap Mahadevia is the Founder and CIO of BCM. Mr. Mahadevia’s background encompasses both significant global long-short equity investing experience at Tiger Consumer Management, Farallon Capital Management and Narragansett Asset Management as well as substantial private equity experience at Leucadia National. Mr. Mahadevia received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2009, graduated from Harvard College in 2003 and previously attended the Phillips Exeter Academy, Class of 1999.

Vitaliy Elbert
Vitaliy Elbert is a managing director at BCM. Prior to joining BCM, Mr. Elbert served as an analyst for Millville Opportunities Management, a developing markets focused hedge fund in New York. He began his career at T. Rowe Price where he served as an analyst for the London-based long only emerging markets team, and subsequently for Legatum Capital, a long-biased multi-billion dollar fund located in Dubai. He graduated from Princeton University in 2008. He was born in Ukraine and is a native Russian speaker.

Robert Blatt
Robert Blatt is a managing director at BCM. Prior to joining BCM, Mr. Blatt was a long-short analyst at Paulson & Co., a multi-billion dollar hedge fund located in New York. He began his career at Bain Capital as an analyst, and subsequently an associate, at the firm’s multi-billion dollar flagship North American Private Equity fund. He is a Princeton University graduate and a CFA charterholder.

Larry Gee
Mr. Gee is a senior advisor for Japan for BCM. Prior to joining BCM, Larry spent 14 years with Viking Global Investors, a $25 billion hedge fund where he served as an investment analyst and head of Viking Japan LLC. While at Viking, he was responsible for researching public and private investment opportunities across multiple sectors in Japan as well as establishing and managing Viking’s office in Japan. Before Viking, Larry spent 5 years at Fidelity Investments Japan where he was an equity analyst and covered multiple sectors including construction, building materials, housing, retail, non-bank financials and brokers. He also managed Fidelity’s Proprietary Consumer and Financial Sector Funds. Before attending graduate school, Larry worked at Price Waterhouse Tokyo as a tax consultant. He graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara, studied Japanese at Keio University and received an MBA from University of Southern California. Larry has previously lived in Japan for 17 years and is a Japanese speaker.

Tim Messina
Tim Messina is an investment director at BCM. Prior to joining BCM, Mr. Messina was managing member of a small, long-short investment partnership, Tekarra Capital Management. Prior to co-founding Tekarra, Mr. Messina was a senior analyst leading the global consumer sector research efforts at Axiom International Investors, an international-focused, $10 billion, multi-strategy asset management firm. He started his career as an investment banking analyst at Citi, covering global consumer and retail companies. He is a Boston College graduate and a CFA charterholder.

Sarang Gupta is an analyst at BCM. Mr. Gupta has previously served as an analyst intern at BCM as well as an intern at Westbridge Capital Partners, DMI Finance and PayTM. Mr. Gupta grew up in India before attending Princeton University where he graduated in 2019 with High Honors. He is a native Hindi speaker.

He started his career as an investment banking analyst at Evercore in the firm’s restructuring practice. Mario Sgarlata, CFA, CPA
Mario Sgarlata is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at BCM. Mr. Sgarlata has over 19 years of experience in the hedge fund and private equity industries. Prior to joining BCM, he was CFO/CCO at Lucus Advisors, an investment adviser that focuses on long/short equity investing. Previously, he was the controller at Balestra Capital, a global macro fund manager, and the assistant controller at Cedar Hill Capital Partners, a multi-strategy investment firm based in New York. He began his career performing audit and advisory services at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Rothstein Kass. He earned a B.S. in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University and is a CFA charterholder as well as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.

Kristin Mastrosimone is a research and operations associate at BCM. Prior to joining BCM, Ms. Mastrosimone was a research associate at Paulson & Co., a multi-billion dollar hedge fund located in New York. Previously, she was an operations associate at Janney Montgomery Scott LLC and an executive assistant at Blue Bell Private Wealth Management. She earned a B.S. in Finance from Saint Joseph’s University.
